What are the 3 Important Questions in Daily Scrum?
3-4 minutes
This is the opportunity for the entire team to succinctly sync up on everyone’s individual progress (Burn down chart) against the iterated Sprint , feature, or story point estimations. In other words, the stand-up is a status update meeting, time-boxed to fifteen minutes with the three basic questions below with ancillary items taken offline by the interested parties.
- What did you do yesterday?
- What will you do today?
- Are there any blockers or impediments preventing you from doing your work?

Purpose of the 3 Question in Daily Scrum
The Daily Scrum is the key inspect and adapt meeting during a Sprint. It is designed to quickly inform everyone of what’s going on across the team. It’s not a detailed status meeting. Listed below are few benefits of having daily scrum meeting:
- Synchronize team’s work.
- Identifies and removes impediments to development
- Adapt daily plan and Sprint Backlog .
- Track progress by reviewing and update the burndown chart
- Improves team participation and collaboration.
What is a Daily Scrum?
Duration: About 15 minutes
Participants: Scrum Master , the Scrum Team and Product Owner
Rule and Guideline:
- Start of a working day at the same time and place
- The Scrum Master serves as a facilitator in the meeting
- The meeting is held with the whole team standing up so as to not prolong the meeting more than 15 minutes
- Each member of the Scrum Team is expected to answer the three questions mentioned above
- Each member of the Scrum Team should take no more than 2 to 3 minutes to answer the above questions
This is simplistic and easy to follow but it’s not really the team speaking with one voice. It can also quickly degrade into a status session and doesn’t bring real clarity to the progress of the sprint backlog.
